Carnival of MOMS-IN-THE-LAW

With Mother's Day being next month I decided to make it early and pay tribute to a group of professionals who can attest to the struggle for the work-life balance we say:

Welcome to the April 7, 2008 edition of Carnival of Moms-in-the-Law

Lawyer Moms

Babs Mountjoy a newpaper reporter/editor turned lawyer from Pennsylvania presents What is the REAL meaning of success? « Awalkabout’s Weblog posted at Awalkabout's Weblog, saying, "Why I'm glad my kids don't want to be a lawyer too..."

Niki Black a criminal defense attorney in New York, is also an author. She presents Women Lawyers Bill More/Less Than Men--Depending On How You Spin It posted at Women Lawyers--Back on Track
Note her observation that "male lawyers with kids were always the first into the office"

Misty aka Scylla is a work at home lawyer mom. She presents Law and Motherhood: Working on no sleep... posted at Law and Motherhood. She writes "I doubt most lawyers have partners banging wooden blocks onto the floor."

Law Student Mom

Dakota Duncan presents Adventures of Law School Mama: Mom Moment posted at Adventures of Law School Mama. She has a full-time job and is a law student and says, "When I am with my family - I am really with them."

Lawyer Guys

Yes the guys got into the act too.

Steven Ballard who specializes in divorce and family law presents Professional Women More Likely to Get Divorced posted at Massachusetts Divorce & Family Law Blog.

Raymond who does not quite fit the bill presents Work At Home To Build A Blog Business posted at Money Blue Book, saying, "I'm not a mom, nor am I a woman, but my experience as a recovering attorney is quite on point. I know what it's like to be chewed up by the legal profession and spat out. Now, I'm happily working on an alternative profession."

Yeah given the focus of this blog, we gave him some space to vent, even though he mentioned something about a female cougar attorney.

That concludes this edition. Submit your blog article to the next edition of
carnival of moms-in-the-law using our carnival submission form.

I wish I had a post to contribute! I'm in my last year of law school with a baby and a hubby (also a lawyer) who is in Iraq. But alas, my blog is more about derganged stuff than about helpful advice!
